Updated · Patch Nov 4, 2026

You're going to bet your next match on these numbers, so you should know where they come from: the source, the math, and which calls are our opinion.

Where the data comes from

Hero, ability and item data — names, effect text, stats, upgrade tiers — comes from the public deadlock-api.com asset API. Win rates, pick rates, head-to-heads, team-ups, item purchase rates and buy times come from deadlock-api.com match analytics. Hero art is from The Deadlock Wiki. Patch notes link to the official Deadlock forum.

How we count

Win rate is wins ÷ matches. Pick rate is the share of matches a hero shows up in. Tiers rank live heroes by win rate: top 10% S, next 25% A, next 30% B, next 25% C, the rest D.

Matchups count games where both heroes were on opposite teams. Last-hit, deny, soul and objective edges are per-match averages over the whole game, not just the lane. Matchups with fewer than 5,000 games stay out of search results until the sample is big enough to trust.

What's opinion

Hero game plans, “how to beat” tips, class-vs-class notes, featured matchups and every long-form guide are written by the Deadlock Bible editorial team. Team roles (Support, Initiator, Frontline, Carry, Pick) are our call, separate from Valve's four classes. MatchEdge build swaps and ability order are heuristics on top of the data.

How fresh it is

Data rebuilds automatically when a patch drops, and at least daily otherwise. Every page shows when it was last updated.
