Playing your class and team role
Brawler, Assassin, Marksman and Mystic — and how Support, Initiator, Frontline, Carry and Pick heroes win fights.
Updated · Patch Nov 4, 2026
Brawler
Brawlers have big health pools and want short-range fights. Lane by walking forward when the enemy’s stamina is spent, build Vitality early, and be the first into fights so your carries can shoot safely.
Assassin
Assassins burst or out-duel isolated targets. Farm first; your kill pressure arrives with your first big item. Mid game, rotate between lanes looking for heroes who’ve overextended, and never take an even 1v1 in the open against a full-health carry.
Marksman
Marksmen fight from range and win lanes with poke. Stand behind your troopers, punish anyone who walks up to last-hit, and position on high ground in fights. Your enemy is the hero who closes the gap, so keep your escape for them.
Mystic
Mystics deal most of their damage with abilities. Trade with spells, farm with your gun, and build Spirit to scale your cooldowns and damage. In fights, your ultimate is often the win condition — don’t waste it on one target.
Support & Initiator
Supports keep allies alive and peel divers; Initiators start fights with crowd control. Both are judged by fights, not farm: be where your team is, and save your key ability for the moment it changes the fight.
Frontline, Carry & Pick
Frontliners soak damage and hold space. Carries scale and deal sustained damage late — they need farm and protection. Pick heroes catch isolated targets with burst or range. A good team has at least one of each.
