Three lanes

Since February 2025 the map has three lanes. City Never Sleeps renamed them and gave each its own districts: York (yellow), Broadway (blue) and Greenwich (green). Each has a zipline running its length and the same chain of structures.

Structures

Guardians are the first tower in each lane; killing one pays souls to your whole team and opens the lane. Walkers are the lane bosses behind them — taking two is the classic mid-game spike. Base Guardians and the two Shrines protect the Patron, which must be destroyed to win.

Neutral objectives

The Mid-Boss sits at the centre of the map. Killing it grants the Rejuvenator buff, which makes your team respawn faster and your troopers hit harder. That’s your window to push. The Soul Urn spawns periodically; carry it to the delivery point for a big soul payout that goes to the runner and any teammate who grabs the released orbs.

Since June 2026 the Unstable Rift is a separate comeback objective. Its resist bonus now scales with game time: 10% plus 1% per minute, capped at 40% at 30 minutes (September 16, 2026 patch).

Rotation checklist

  1. Shove your wave before you leave — a crashing wave buys you 30+ seconds.
  2. Rotate toward the objective that spawns next, one wave early.
  3. Ping where you’re going. Two heroes arriving together beats three arriving one by one.
  4. After you win a fight: objective first, jungle second, chase never.

The four Districts

The City Never Sleeps update (September 29, 2026) rebuilt the map as New York and added four Districts in the back streets between the lanes: Theater, Chinatown, Haunted Lot and Plaza. Each has its own Haunts, the creatures that replaced the old neutral camps. Theater has Stage Hands, Chinatown has Festival Spirit and Crabbage Pots, Haunted Lot has Shrooms and Plaza has Underhands.

Each lane also has three named stops. York runs through the Stock Exchange, Seaport Dock and Old Fairfax Factories; Broadway through Uptown, Times Square and Downtown; Greenwich through Umbria University, Central Park and the Brownstones. The minimap labels every lane and District now, so use those names in your callouts.

Bell Tower and Sunken Plaza

Two of the Districts hold new objectives. The Bell Tower in Chinatown has a dense pile of souls at the top, but collecting them rings the bell across the whole map and the minimap pings where it rang. Play it like a smaller Soul Urn: free money if the enemy is busy, a trap if they’re close by.

The Sunken Plaza sits under Plaza’s main square. The deeper you go, the quieter the outside world gets and the more stamina you lose. The reward is big, but you won’t hear a gank coming, or have the stamina to dash out of one.

  1. When the bell rings, check the minimap ping. Someone is at the top of the tower, and now you know exactly where.
  2. Go into the Sunken Plaza with a teammate, or once an enemy shows up elsewhere on the map. Never go alone when two are missing.

Steam Vents, statues and snacks

Steam Vents make you invisible and give a little regen while you stand on them, so use them to wait out a gank or set one up. Golden statues can now also give permanent Spirit Resist, Bullet Resist, Ability Range or Move Speed, so break them when you pass. Healing Snacks are hidden around the map for a quick heal, and Tough Crates take a Heavy Melee to open but pay extra souls.

Near a Haunt camp or the Mid-Boss, an in-world timer shows when it respawns, and the top bar shows the Mid-Boss timer, so there’s no need to track them in your head.
