Terms of use
Last updated
These terms cover your use of deadlockbible.com ("Deadlock Bible", "we", "us"). They're short and written in plain language.
Acceptance
By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy and Cookie policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Unofficial fan site
Deadlock Bible is an unofficial fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Valve Corporation.
Deadlock, its hero, item and ability names, logos and artwork are trademarks and/or copyrights of Valve Corporation. They are used here for informational fan purposes only. All other trademarks belong to their owners.
Content and accuracy
Guides, game plans and tips are our opinion. Statistics come from third-party sources (see our methodology) and may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date — especially right after a patch.
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deadlock Bible and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its content. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
Acceptable use
Please use the site in a way that doesn't harm it or other visitors. In particular, don't:
- scrape or crawl the site in a way that degrades the service for others (respect robots.txt and reasonable rate limits);
- try to break or overload the site, probe it for vulnerabilities or get around its security;
- use the site to break the law, or present our content as official Valve material;
- interfere with ads in ways that violate our ad partners' policies (for example, generating invalid clicks).
The public data files under /data/ (for example /data/heroes.json) may be reused for non-commercial purposes with attribution to Deadlock Bible and a link to deadlockbible.com. Game data in them originates from deadlock-api.com and Valve; respect their terms too.
Community builds
Signed-in players can publish builds and vote on them. Builds from Deadlock's in-game build browser are shown with credit to their authors. When you publish a build here:
- it must be your own, or credit the player you got it from;
- its name and description must not contain slurs, hate speech, harassment, sexual content or anyone's personal information;
- no spam, advertising, links, invite codes or contact details, and no publishing the same build over and over;
- don't push votes or reports around with extra accounts or scripts.
You keep the rights to what you write and let us show it on the site, in any language, for as long as it's published. You can edit or delete your builds at any time.
We may hide or remove any build, and ban accounts that break these rules, without notice. A banned account can't publish, vote or report, and its votes stop counting. If you think we got it wrong, email privacy@deadlockbible.com.
Third-party links and ads
The site links to third-party sites (such as the official Deadlock forum, Steam and The Deadlock Wiki) and shows ads served by Google. We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party content, products or practices.
Translations
Pages in languages other than English are machine-translated and may contain errors. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version prevails.
Changes
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Ontario, Canada have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
