Shiv vs Infernus

Brawler vs Mystic

Most Mystic damage is spirit damage. Buy Spirit Resist early and walk them down after they’ve used their main spell.

Your game plan as Shiv

A dirty fighter who bleeds you, defers his own damage and finishes you with an execute.

How to beat Infernus

A pyromaniac who wins by keeping everyone burning for just a bit too long.

• 01Short trades. Afterburn punishes long ones.
• 02Concussive Combustion can’t be interrupted — walk out of it.
• 03Buy anti-heal and Spirit Resist; most of his damage is spirit.

1. 01Infernus wins the farm by ~39.5 last hits per match. Prioritise safe last hits and denies over trades, and let your lane partner zone.
2. 02Infernus deals most damage with abilities. Trade right after they’ve used their main spell, and consider early Spirit Shielding.

• 2
  Hold

Hold Slice and Dice for Concussive Combustion — use it the moment Infernus commits, not before.

• 1
  Early point

Infernus wins the farm: an early point into Serrated Knives clears waves and keeps you in lane.

• Shiv averages 1.11 kills per death against Infernus.
• Shiv finishes 2.6k souls behind Infernus on average — play for teamfights and scaling rather than lane kills.
• Shiv deals 2.7k less objective damage per match than Infernus — let teammates take structures while you hold.
• Track Concussive Combustion (190s cooldown). The window right after Infernus uses it is your best time to fight.
